The Bulls were formed in 1998. In the first two years of the Super 12/14 competition the franchise was represented by the Currie Cup team, the Blue Bulls (Nthn Transvaal). The current franchise represents the South African Rugby Regions of Pretoria, Gauteng Province & Limpopo Province. Their home ground is Loftus Versfeld stadium in Pretoria.
Their colours are Dark Blue with Light Blue trim.
